Bartholomew Returns to Racing

Just 9 weeks after sustaining serious injuries in a cycling accident whilst training, Sussex racing driver Jack Bartholomew made his return to racing at the weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Silverstone.

Bartholomew sustained multiple injuries including a broken collar bone, 6 broken ribs and a punctured lung whilst training on the 18th July when he was hit by a van on the A259 near Eastbourne.

With specialist treatment and an intense training programme over the next 8 weeks Jack missed just three rounds of the championship and returned last weekend at Silverstone and managed to qualify in a fantastic P6 in the Pro class finishing both races on Sunday in 7th & 8th.

Jack Bartholomew

“It’s been a tough 9 weeks to be honest and my focus was always getting back in the car as quickly as possible. I trained every day as soon as I was able to walk without too much pain and although I wanted to come back earlier realistically Silverstone was always the goal.

The weekend wasn’t without its challenges having been out of the car for so long with no testing but overall, I think I can be proud of what we achieved”.

The final round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will be at Brands Hatch on the 8th & 9th of October.
